Students at Sunderland College will soon be red hot technicians after receiving new equipment to help with plumbing and gas training.
The college has been working with boiler manufacturer Ferroli to supply one of its new energy efficient Modena HE boilers, a new generation of high performance boilers that is increasingly being installed in new homes.
The college now has one fitted and in use as part of its plumbing curriculum, ensuring its students receive training on the most up-to-date equipment.
Gary Cumiskey at Sunderland College said: “We’re constantly working with industry to ensure our students get the most relevant experience and training as part of their vocational courses.
“This means that students are proficient in the latest industry practices and ready for employment once they leave.”
Paul Megginson from Ferroli said: “Working with the college in this way means that the students will be safely trained on an energy efficient and money saving boiler that they will find in many new homes once they start work.”
