Over 35 students and lecturers from the college took part in a fund-raising fun run dressed in onesies (Thursday 20th March) in aid of raising money for Sport Relief.
The college team ran a Sport Relief mile as part of a national effort to raise awareness and fund-raise for people in need in both the UK and overseas. Sport Relief encourages the nation to get active, have fun and raise life-changing cash.
Students and college staff set off from the Hylton campus and ran to Hylton Castle and back. Students and lecturers were charged £1 to enter the run and also raised their own sponsorship from friends and family. The students, mainly studying hair and beauty at Sunderland College were greeted at the end of the run by the college’s catering students who provided refreshments.
17 year old hair and beauty student, Megan Crafer said “It was a great event to take part in and for a very worthwhile cause. We certainly got a lot of attention running in our range of onesies!”
