Sunderland College is currently seeking a temporary Examinations Officer to join the college’s busy examinations team. The post is anticipated to be for one year for maternity cover.

Sunderland College caters for around 20,000 students across all funding streams including EFA Study Programmes, SFA Adult, Workplace and Apprenticeships, Higher Education, Full cost provision and ESF project funding. The qualifications that we deliver vary in range from entry level to HE and Foundation Degrees, covering both Academic and Vocational pathways. Apprenticeships Frameworks are also offered at all levels.

You will be making an active contribution to all aspects of examinations and certification, whilst ensuring full compliance with College and Awarding Organisation regulations. You will need an appropriate academic and/or professional qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent as well as holding Maths and English at GCSE A*-C or level 2 (or be prepared to work towards these).

A good working knowledge of qualifications offered in the FE sector along with a proven ability to work with high levels of accuracy within deadlines is essential. Familiarity with the ACE system and A2C would be beneficial although training will be available if necessary. Candidates will need to be highly organised and efficient, have good communication skills, display a customer focused approach and demonstrate flexibility in relation to start and finish times.
