Sunderland College wishes to appoint a Head of Partnerships & Projects to lead on the College’s partnership/subcontractor, contracted in and externally funded project activity. The College has ambitious plans to develop its contracted in and externally funded project activity; supporting the College’s engagement in the new European Structural & Investment Fund programme will be a key part of the role. It is also looking to establish strategic partnering arrangements with a number of subcontractors.
This newly created role will involve working with the Executive Director – Commercial Activity and other members of the Senior Leadership & Management Team to develop and implement a coherent strategy and plan to maximise income from, and enhance the quality of, the College’s partnership and project activity. Stakeholder/customer relationship and account management – internally and externally – will be a critical part of the role.
The successful candidate will have a degree; a post graduate qualification would also be desirable, and have a proven track record of achievement in developing and implementing high performing plans for subcontracting.
You should also have knowledge and experience of EFA, SFA and ESF contract/quality compliance and audit requirements, and experience of having operated and delivered Government and ESF funded skills related contracts. As an expert networker, you will build strong external and internal relationships, whilst managing the Partnerships & Projects Office. With a ‘can-do’ and resilient approach, you will have an organisation-wide perspective of how partnerships and projects can benefit the College as a whole.
* This will initially be a 0.75 FTE position working 27.75 hours per week however the intention is that the role and number of hours would grow as the volume of activity grows meaning that the post could potentially become full time (37 hours per week).
Applicants should be able to demonstrate in their personal statement, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification. Please note that the successful applicant would be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check due to the nature of this post.
