Sunderland College has a long history of employer engagement, achieved through developing the skills and knowledge that equip our learners to work in a diverse range of sectors. The College was one of the first nationally to achieve the widely recognised Training Quality Standard for its work with employers and was awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence status for its expertise in building services, call centre operation and ICT networking. Today, the College works with over 400 businesses each year, including work with large blue chip companies such as EE and NPower, and is one of the largest providers of Apprenticeships in the region. It also has strong links with Sector Skills Councils, National Skills Academies and Professional Institutes/Associations across a range of industry areas.
The College is keen to continue to build on this success and expand its workforce having secured a number of significant contracts in the above areas.
We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified Trainer/Assessors to work within the department of Computing and Business. The majority of work will involve workplace delivery including apprentices and working with work placements. There may also be work involving Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships as well.
The successful applicants will possess relevant vocational qualifications, a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards this) and an assessors award.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their personal statement, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification.
Due to the nature of this post you will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
