A good standard of education is required. Applicants should be willing to improve their Maths and English skills as part of the apprenticeship if required. Anyone with a degree is not eligible to apply for these positions.
Sunderland Care and Support are one of the largest health and social care providers in the North East. Part of Sunderland Council, they are looking to increase their workforce over the next few years. The role for this apprenticeship is richly varied and could involve working alongside older people, someone who has mental health needs, autism, or a physical or learning disability. Duties will include:
- Supporting vulnerable adults with a variety of duties, and in doing so respect the person’s dignity, privacy and independence.
- Assisting people who use our services with personal care needs and helping them to maintain and achieve maximum independence.
- Working at weekends and some Bank Holidays
- Providing care and support to people with complex and challenging behaviour in shared accommodation or in their own homes.
