Who is this course for?

If you would like to work in a vibrant and constantly growing sector this is the course for you.

What do you need to apply for the course?

You will need a minimum of four GCSE’s at grade C or above (including English Language) or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism at merit grade or distinction (including GCSE grade C or above in English Language). You may also be required to undertake an interview.

The course will help to prepare you for progression into employment or higher education and includes;

  • Investigating the Travel and Tourism sector
  • The Business of Travel and Tourism
  • The UK as a Destination
  • Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
  • Work Experience in the Travel & Tourism Sector / Marketing or Long Haul Destinations
  • European Destinations

In addition you will also study other qualifications i.e. Level 2 Certificate for Introduction to Cabin Crew, Level 2 Award for Resort Representatives.

How you will learn

You will learn through theory based sessions within in the Travel and Tourism Academy and learn practical skills in our mock aircraft cabin. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a work placement within our on-site Citysun Travel Agency, which is open to the public.

Where could this course take you?

On successful completion of the course you could progress to the Higher Education programme – HND in Travel and Tourism Management. Alternatively you could go directly into employment within the travel and tourism industry.

What costs will you incur?

At the start of the course, you will be required to pay £165 in year one and £185 in year two to contribute towards your uniform and educational visits.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 years old (on the first day of your course) and do not already have a full Level 3 of higher qualification, you will not have to pay course fees. This may be different for learners studying on a course in the workplace.

If you are aged 19 or over, on the first day of your course, studying at Level 3 or above, you are able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the costs of your course, similar to arrangements for higher education students.
