Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for anyone interested in Construction and especially Carpentry and Joinery. It’s designed to prepare you for entry in to the industry of your chosen craft.
What do you need to apply for the course?
Completion of GCSE or KS4 courses English & Maths at an appropriate level. Plus Achievement of a Practical Skills Assessment (where necessary).
What are the key things you'll learn?
You will learn all of the basic joints used in carpentry and joinery along with how to use the wide range of joinery tools, you will also learn about traditional and new construction methods with a section specifically linked to working on site.
How you will learn
Throughout the length of the course you will learn about the carpentry and joinery industry through practical workshop sessions in our life like construction workshop and classroom theory sessions.
Where could this course take you?
After successfully completing this course you can advance onto the Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery or go on to an apprenticeship.
