Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone wishing to understand themselves and others better emotionally, so developing personally and therefore knowing a fundamental aspect of counselling.
What do you need to apply for the course?
You must be 19+ at the start of the academic year (1st Sept).
You should have a desire to learn new skills.
What are the key things you'll learn?
Awareness of their own life situation and how to change through development of emotional recognition and communication within the context of counselling skills. The course will cover the following two units which make up the Qualification (Award):
- Emotional Intelligence
- Personal Development
How you will learn
You will learn through group work, mini lectures, group discussions, skills practices and experiential exercises.
Where could this course take you?
After completing this course you could progress onto the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Combined Studies)-Counselling pathway. Alternatively you could go on to study Communication Skills in Health and Social Care.
