Who is this course for?

This course is perfect for anyone who has a passion for dance and wants to develop skills in this area. The minimum age requirement is 18.

We want to make your experience of working with NCFE as enjoyable and as easy as possible and we have lots of benefits for taking this course too. Not only is the course fun and exciting but you will also meet new people along the way. You will attain a recognised qualification at the end and if you want to there are many progression routes available.

What do you need to apply for the course?

You do not need any formal qualifications for this course.

What are the key things you'll learn?

The aim of the course is to provide you with the fundamental skills of performance in dance. You will focus on practical skills in each session and will be provided with an opportunity to develop skills relating to the performance industry. Each week will differ slightly in terms of the dance style to keep the classes fresh and interesting. Recap sessions will be done throughout the 10-week course.

How you will learn

The class is designed to develop skills in performance in dance, therefore the sessions will begin with learning simple phrases of dance focusing on posture, developing basic co-ordination of the arms, legs and feet. You will experiment with traveling phrases across the floor and work in groups to explore and develop your own ideas. Each participant will be involved and take part in each practical group class.

Where could this course take you?

Successful completion of NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Performance Skills using Dance can lead onto Level 2 courses in Performance and dance.
