Who is this course for?
This is an ideal course for people who wish to study both visual and performing arts. With a view to progress onto level 2 and specialise in one of the two areas.
What do you need to apply for the course?
2 GCSEs grade E or above, one should be English.
What are the key things you'll learn?
You will learn the principles of Visual and Performing Arts. Examples of some of the units you will study over the year:
- Introduction to the Creative Arts and Media Sectors
- Exploring Design Skills for the Performing Arts
- Exploring Acting Skills
- Exploring Dance Skills
- Exploring Music Performance Skills
- Working in a Team
- Presenting Performing Arts Work
How you will learn
The course will be a culmination of highly practical sessions and academic sessions. Units are internally assessed.
Where could this course take you?
This course provides a good foundation into design and performance skills. You will be able to progress onto level 2 on successful completion of this course; where you will be able to specialise in either Art and Design, Media, Performing Arts or Music.
What costs will you incur?
You will need to provide your own paper and pens, suitable clothes and shoes will need to be provided by the student for practical lessons. You will attend the college trips this will be a combination of college funded, subsidised and student funded.
