Who is this course for?
Students who are 19 years and above who are wanting to apply to university for degrees in ;
Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Child Nursing, Learning Disability Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Occupational Health, ODP, Public Health, Health and Social Care.
What do you need to apply for the course?
4 GCSE’s at grade C or a full level 2 plus Maths and English at level 2.
Complete an English and Maths assessment and attend an interview.
What are the key things you'll learn?
Graded Units, level 3, 9 credits : Human Biology, Professional Skills in Health Care, Contemporary Issues in Health, Psychology,Social Policy and Welfare * Biochemistry ( optional within Health Science Strand) = 45 credits@ level 3
Ungraded units,ungraded : Higher Maths- level 3 ,3 credits, Study Skills -Level 2, 6 credits, English Writing Skills- level 2, 3 credits, English Comprehension, level 2, 3 credits = 15 credits
How you will learn
Lectures, Tutorials, Workshops,
Continuous Assessment involving building a portfolio to include:
Essays, Reports, Projects ,Academic Posters, Leaflets, Internal exams approx. three assessments per unit. Deadlines and submission dates set internally and portfolios examined by external moderators.

Average salary for qualified Nursing staff = £23,000 approx.
What costs will you incur?
Tuition fees for the Access Diploma are written off when students pass their Access course and pass their degree. Fees will be incurred if students leave Access or University before they have completed.
