This course is for anyone who is looking to start a career in the catering industry. It will teach the basics and the foundations in order to progress
What do you need to apply for the course?
A passion for cooking and an ambition to do well. No formal qualifications are required but an informal chat would be needed.
What are the key things you'll learn?
Basic preparation and cooking techniques for a variety of foods such as vegetables meat and poultry. You will also learn the knowledge behind some fundamental kitchen practices like health and safety and food safety.
How you will learn
You will learn mostly in our practical kitchen but with some elements of theory as well. You will be assessed on your practical skills and also asked to complete some knowledge tests.
Where could this course take you?
The course could lead to a full level two qualification.

The cost of the uniform and knives required is approximately £100.
