Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at people perhaps looking for a change in career or who are looking to embark on a career in Youth Work.  During this programme of study, it will be requires to undertake a suitable work placement.

What do you need to apply for the course?

There are no stipulated entry requirements, other than a genuine interest in working in this environment.  Successful candidates will be subject to a CRB Enhanced Disclosure.

There will also be the opportunity to look at developing further study, offering access to literacy and numeracy courses, which will be advantageous for higher levels of study.

What are the key things you'll learn?

At level one, a broad ranging programme has been selected, giving the learners access to many issues faced by young people, but also developing their confidence, communication and teamwork skills.  Students will be required to undertake a placement in a youth work or comparative setting.

How you will learn

The course will be delivered, using various teaching methods, maximising students learning.  There will be an opportunity to learn in a work based setting, while active in a placement.

Where could this course take you?

Successful completion of the course will give the learners a NOCN Level 1 certificate.  This could lead to enrolling on the Level 2 in Youth Work Practice programme., and higher education.
