Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who would like to begin a career in childcare, specifically in the Early Years (0-5 years).

What do you need to apply for the course?

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or Level 2 Adult Literacy and Numeracy.

What are the key things you'll learn?

This course is all about gaining new knowledge foundation for future learning. You will learn about the key attributes of the Early Years Professional, child development, health and safety considerations, how to safeguard children and promote their learning.

How you will learn

You will attend college to learn theory and undertake a practical work placement to learn practical skills. You will create a portfolio of evidence and this is how you will be assessed.

Where could this course take you?

Upon completion of this course you will have gained a license to practice with young children in a supervised capacity. You will be able to gain employment as a nursery assistant. You can go on to study on the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator).
