Who is this course for?
This NVQ in Plastering is structured to cater for the two disciplines within this industry sector. The two disciplines are: NVQ Diploma in Plastering – Solid or NVQ Diploma in Plastering – Fibrous. This qualification enables skilled individuals, employed within the sector to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
What do you need to apply for the course?
In order to enrol on this qualification, candidates must be employed in the construction (Plastering) industry, with a minimum of 12 months experience.
What are the key things you'll learn?
Mandatory Units • Conform to general workplace safety • Confirm work activities and resources for the work • Develop and maintain good working relationships • Confirm the occupational method of work • Erect and dismantle access/ working platforms (students must complete the following units Applying projection plaster and maintaining equipment in the workplace, Installing direct bond dry linings, Installing mechanically fixed, Laying sand and cement screeds to levels and/or falls, Producing external solid render finishes in the Producing internal solid plastering finishes in the workplace.
How you will learn
The course is assessed within the workplace, by a qualified NVQ Assessor who will observe performance. Some additional written work may be required in order to confirm underpinning knowledge within the units. NVQ assessors will visit on a regular basis, and will provide on-going support and guidance throughout this qualification. Candidates will complete a number of mandatory and optional units for their chosen area/ pathway.
