Who is this course for?
This qualification provides you with a specialist work-related programme of study to provide you with a practical understanding of the fundamental aspects of the plumbing industry, as well as an appreciation of the knowledge, skills and competency needed when considering entering employment in the sector.
What do you need to apply for the course?
You should be able to show you have a standard of literacy, numeracy and general education equivalent to four GCSEs, or you should be able to show that you have undertaken suitable work experience or have completed a Level 1 qualification.
What are the key things you'll learn?
You will learn units such as health and safety, structure of the construction industry, hot and cold water systems, central heating and sanitation as well as a practical element of the programme which will give you basic hands on experience of the industry.
How you will learn
The units are both theory and practical based, with the assessment carried out via a varied series of assignments and portfolio building.
Where could this course take you?
Following successful completion of the level 1 plumbing craft course, you can progress onto a Level 2 plumbing programme or move into another building services area such as electrical installation or Green Technology.
