Who is this course for?

Anyone with a interest in fashion and design and wish to gain basic sewing and design development knowledge providing a good learning foundation on which to build.

What do you need to apply for the course?

No formal qualifications are necessary, just a keen interest in fashion and sewing and a desire to learn.

What are the key things you'll learn?

Gain an awareness of the design development process; create a portfolio of design development and a learning journal of garment construction techniques.

How you will learn

Sessions will be mainly practical learning how to sew, draw and how to research.  The course is assessed with a submitted portfolio of work.

Where could this course take you?

This course provides a good foundation of learning and can lead on to the Level 2 Award in Fashion.

It is also suitable for those who are interested in a designer/maker career or those taking their first steps in working towards a career in the fashion industry.

What costs will you incur?

Students will need to buy a sewing kit and may prefer to invest in their own sewing machine.  They will need to by a pattern and fabric for their final garment.
