Who is this course for?

The TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Mathematics: Numeracy (QCF) is a standalone specialist qualification for teachers or trainee teachers working in the education and training sector who wish to obtain a specialist teaching qualification in numeracy. It can be completed before a generic teaching qualification, afterwards or concurrently.

What do you need to apply for the course?

Minimum Level 2 Numeracy Qualification

Level 4 Generic Teaching Qualification

A minimum practice requirement of 50 hours teaching, all of which must be in the specialist area and

4 assessed observations of teaching, all in the specialist area. Observations of practice must meet the required standard

What are the key things you'll learn?

The aim of this course is to develop your knowledge, skills and attitudes for teaching numeracy.

This course will enable you to use inclusive literacy and language teaching and assessment approaches to meet the needs of individual learners.

How you will learn

Examples of assessment methods include – Assignments, case studies, checklists, essays, observations, online assessments, portfolio of evidence, reflective learning journals, and self-evaluation and action plan.
