Sport Apprenticeships in Schools

Sunderland College, in partnership with Peak Fitness, specialists in making fitness fun in schools, run an apprenticeship programme that gives local schools the opportunity to employ a Sports Apprentice to deliver PE sessions. Already over 20 schools in the region have taken advantage of this scheme, freeing up existing staff who, at the moment, have to cover PE to do other duties.  This is a great opportunity to employ a really ‘sports focussed’ professional who, as part of this programme, are trained to ensure the sessions they deliver are pitched at the right level for the age range within the school and deliver maximum benefit to the pupils.

If that sounds interesting and you’d like to find out more come along to:

Sunderland College, Bede Campus – Thursday 17th March 2016 3pm-5.30pm

We will have a group of 30 year 3 children from a local school coming along to our brand new £22 million Sports Academy, where our apprentices will be delivering a typical PE Session. We’d be delighted if you or a colleague could attend and see this innovative and very cost effective new way to deliver the PE part of the curriculum in action.

Refreshments will be provided and staff from Peak Fitness and the college’s apprentice team will be available to discuss how the scheme works, the costs involved, and demonstrate the savings that could be made to your school.
