Attendance details: Full time enrolment every Monday in term time
Who is this course for?
This course is for people wanting to prepare for their IELTS examination and is designed to suit your individual language level.
What do you need to apply for the course?
You’ll need to be over 18 years of age. If you require a Visa, a minimum IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent is required.
What are the key things you’ll learn?
This course focuses on the language and skills necessary for the IELTS exam in combination with General English to improve grammar, vocabulary and communicative skills. It helps develop accurate pronunciation and intonation, improves listening, writing, and reading skills and covers all aspects of English grammar, relevant to your level.
How will you learn?
This course uses a combination of teaching and learning styles including classroom teaching; small group work; individual task completion and self-study. Through the course your tutor will assess your progress and give you regular feedback regarding the four skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking; grammar and vocabulary.
You’ll also have the opportunity to practise for the IELTS exam, using past papers and taking mock exams. As the College is an IELTS Testing Centre, you will be able to sit your IELTS exam at the end of your programme of study here at the College

Monday, Tuesday & Friday 9.30 to 16.30 (1 hour for lunch)
Thursday 13.30 to 16.30

Sunderland College are now offering courses that will provide you with additional tuition and IELTS practice. These courses run every month before the IELTS examination for those age 18 and over, and are subject to a minimum class size of 6.
The College offers 5 different 3 hour workshops to help you feel more confident when you approach the exam day. You can attend one workshop, all 5 or just mix and match to suit your own individual needs.
