The deadline for finance applications by students moving on to their second and third year of higher education is the 29th of June.
Student Finance England (SFE) is urging North East students returning to university this year to make sure their applications are complete in time.
This year SFE have made the process even easier for returning students, with many simply having to return a signed declaration form to confirm their finance.
Steve Brown, Student Finance Consultant for the North East region, said:
“Returning students should get their finance sorted now. If you are applying for student finance that depends on your household income you need to reapply, while pre-approved applications just need to be signed and returned.
“By applying in plenty of time students won’t have to worry that their tuition fees are in place and their maintenance loans and grants are ready to be paid to cover books and accommodation, if required.”
If you have yet to complete your application, you can do it online: www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance. If you have any further questions about higher education funding please contact our Welfare Team using the LiveChat feature below.
