Operation Christmas Child campaign

Operation Christmas Child

The college is encouraging staff and students to take part in the Operation Christmas Child 2014 campaign.

This annual initiative, which is organised by Samaritan’s Purse, delivers thousands of gift-filled shoeboxes to underprivileged children around the world each Christmas.

The charity needs our help to wrap and pack shoeboxes – and lots of our students are already involved in this campaign.

They have arranged a variety of fundraising activities in order to raise money and fill-up lots of shoeboxes with presents.

Activities are as follows:

  • Monday, October 20: Car wash – Bede Car Park – 9am-12.30pm. Staff can sign up by emailing Christopher.goodall@sunderlandcollege.ac.uk with car make, colour and registration.
  • Tuesday, October 21: Bake Sale – Bede Common Room – 11.45am-12.30pm.
  • Friday, October 24: Beat the Goalkeeper – Goals Soccer Centre – 12.15. It costs 50p to enter and the winner gets a trophy!
  • Friday, October 24: Raffle – Outside of the main hall, Bede Campus. Tickets cost 50p or £1 for three.

We would love as many staff and students to get involved in these activities in aid of this very worthwhile appeal!

If anybody would like to donate gifts, there are drop-off points at Bede Campus in the main hall and Room 305, Bede building.

If you are based at a different campus and would like to donate or get involved in the campaign, please email Christopher.goodall@sunderlandcollege.ac.uk
