17-year-old Andrew Dawson, who is studying Mathematics, Physics and Computing A-Levels at Sunderland Sixth Form, has had a research paper on transport published in a national journal.
He completed his paper after secured a prestigious Nuffield Research Placement, which provide students with the opportunity to work alongside professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
He was placed in a research team at Newcastle University for his placement, during which time he worked with the team to conduct research and produce an academic paper on transport. His paper has now been published in the Rail Exchange Conference Journal.
Andrew also attended a regional conference and presented his work to his peers, family and academics.
