Sunderland College is seeking to appoint a Funding and Compliance Manager to lead and co-ordinate the preparation and timely submission of valid and accurate data returns to funding bodies. The post holder will also take a lead role in the development and maintenance of robust controls and procedures with the purpose of ensuring compliance with audit requirements, compliance with the contract requirements of funding agencies and compliance with internal college policies and procedures.
Sunderland College is a large Further Education college catering for around 15,000 learners including 16-18 year old sixth form students, Adults, Apprentices and Higher Education learners. The college operates across four campuses in Sunderland, plus a fifth in Hartlepool. The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Bede Campus within Sunderland, but will need to work at the other locations as required.
The successful candidate will have a very good working knowledge of the Funding Rules and Regulations that apply to 16-18 year olds, Adults, Apprenticeships and Higher Education learners. Alongside knowledge of these regulations, the post holder will be familiar with ILR specifications and operation including the use of related software such as FIS and PDSATs.
Good communication skills are essential as is the ability work to deadlines, solve complex problems, maintain high levels of accuracy and have a customer focused approach to colleagues throughout the organisation.
The Funding and Compliance Manager will also take a lead role in managing the process of External Funding Audit and is, therefore, essential that the candidate has experience in this area of work.
