Northumberland college is delighted to be expanding its land-based staffing team with the introduction of a Machinery and Workshop Technician. Based within the stunning surroundings of Kirkley Hall, a welcoming team awaits the successful applicant to support our journey and exciting Land based vision. The successful post holder will play a key role in the development of a student first curriculum and outstanding support for both staff and students. The post holder will have a clear remit in maintaining the workshop, associated machinery, vehicles and tools as well as being the Health and Safety champion for the Land based curriculum. Supporting students to develop the key competencies for future success will also be a key part of this role.
The successful post holder will be self-motivated, enthusiastic as well as flexible in their approach to work. They will possess extensive skills in the maintenance and safe operation of plant and machinery including agricultural tractors and implements. They will have an enthusiasm for working in an FE environment with young people and experience in this sector will be welcomed. Good organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively is essential within this role. Proven history and experience of Estates work and other land-based skills would be desirable as would a qualification within any of the Land based industries
