An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic lecturer who is passionate about Dance, to work within the department of Visual & Performing Arts.
We would like to further strengthen our team with a highly creative and skilled specialist, who has a particular strength in both Ballet and Contemporary Dance. This post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work in our new state of the art ‘Arts Academy’, at the Bede Campus and be a part of a successful team, supporting outstanding achievement across the Performing Arts provision at: BTEC, A Level and Foundation Degree levels.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner, with relevant vocational competence and be able to ensure quality, have high expectations, enthuse and inspire students to achieve the best possible outcomes and prepare students for a career in the performing arts industry.
Applicants will have a Degree in Dance or a related course. Applicants must have relevant dance experience and could be new to teaching or have a proven track record in education. The successful applicant will take a lead role in delivering on the level 2 and level 3 Dance courses and Foundation Degree in Dance. Applicants must hold a teaching qualification or be willing to achieve within two years. The successful applicant will assist the department to ensure students work towards their full study programme.
Applicants for this post should be able to demonstrate in their personal statement practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification. Applicants will also be expected to provide experience of teaching across different Dance qualifications.
Due to the nature of the post the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
