An opportunity has arisen for a passionate, drama specialist, to teach on our thriving Level 2-5 courses, on a fixed term maternity cover contract. This post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work in our state of the art ‘Arts Academy’, at the Bede Campus and be a part of a successful team.
We are seeking a highly creative and enthusiastic specialist with the skills and experience to ensure our learners are industry ready with the right skills and knowledge for their next steps and/or the workplace. We are particularly seeking someone who has experience teaching both QCF and NQF BTEC Performing Arts courses, and experience teaching to HND/Foundation Degree level. Experience delivering A level Drama and Theatre is desirable. You will be joining a well-established drama team and wider Creative Arts teams.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner, with relevant vocational competence and be able to ensure quality, have high expectations, enthuse and inspire students to achieve the best possible outcomes and prepare students for a career in the performing arts industry.
Applicants will have a Degree in Drama or a related course. Applicants must have relevant drama experience and could be new to teaching or have a proven track record in education. The applicant will take a lead role in delivering on the level 3 Drama courses and Foundation Degree and HND in Drama. Applicants must hold a teaching qualification. The applicant will assist the department to ensure students work towards their full study programme.
Applicants for this post should be able to demonstrate in their personal statement practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification. Applicants will also be expected to provide experience of teaching across different Drama qualifications.
