An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ESOL Lecturer and English specialist to join our ESOL team.   We are looking for someone who has a passion for English and who can use this energy to engage our ESOL learners allowing them to achieve their qualifications, support employment opportunities, college progression and integration into the community.

The successful candidate will deliver ESOL within a number of settings, including ESOL for adults, ESOL Study Programme and additional employability qualifications that support learner progression. You will have the opportunity to develop your teaching practice within ESOL and our English team, therefore the flexibility to teach across all age ranges and English specialisms is essential.   The role will allow the successful candidate valuable teaching practice within the English curriculum, allowing the successful applicant to expand and develop their teaching portfolio.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding teaching practitioner in English who possesses the ability to communicate their knowledge and expertise to our learners. The ESOL team are focused on continued growth and therefore we are looking to appoint an applicant who has extensive curriculum delivery experience, not only in ESOL but across other subject areas, including Functional Skills.

In particular, we are looking for an innovative and creative practitioner who has extensive experience of curriculum design across a number of disciplines and who can work collaboratively with our team in developing effective teaching, learning and assessment tools to support learner achievement.

Applicants should have an appropriate Degree, relevant ESOL qualifications and a teaching qualification.   A Subject Specialism would be preferable, together with an assessor’s award/IQA award to support our internal quality assurance processes. Within the personal statement, practical examples of how you fulfil the person specification and examples of your teaching practice should be included.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their personal statement, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification.
