An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Sport to join our ambitious team at Sunderland College, who have recently been recognised as the top college nationally and awarded the prestigious BTEC College of the Year by Pearson. We are looking for someone who has a passion for Sport who can use this energy to inspire learners to have lifelong careers in this key sector.

We are particularly interested in innovative and creative practitioners who have experience and a desire to teach BTEC level 3, Higher Nationals and/or Foundation Degrees. The successful applicant will have an in-depth understanding of the Sport and Leisure sector through either previous employment or regular professional industry updating. You will be a key member of a collaborative team that focusses on providing excellent learner experiences through the quality of our teaching, learning and assessment.

This is an exciting time for the Sport team who benefit from outstanding teaching and learning facilities in our multi-million pound Sports Academy, consisting of specialist facilities such as Sports Hall, Sport Science Laboratory, Sports Massage room, Technogym Fitness Suite, 3 G pitches, Sports fields and access to an onsite specialist Strength and Conditioning Performance Centre.

Applicants should have an appropriate degree and teaching qualification, together with experience of internal quality assurance processes. Within the personal statement, practical examples of how you fulfil the person specification and examples of your teaching practice should be included.

Due to the nature of this post you will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
