Your enrolment (adults)

When can I enrol?
The main enrolment days for students aged 19+ are from Monday 3 September to Thursday 13 September 2018.

How long will my enrolment take?
It will take approximately an hour.

What do I need to bring?

  • Payment for course fees or an Advanced Learner Loan Notification of Entitlement letter
  • NI number
  • A current payslip or contract of employment for fee remission (for a Level 2 course or below, or if your income is less than £15,736.50)

What do I get when I enrol?
You will be officially enrolled and will have secured a place on your course. You will also be provided with an ID badge and your start date.

What time can I enrol?
Every student is allocated an individual time slot in which to enrolment. You will be sent details of your enrolment time via a letter, which is posted beginning of August. Please make sure you arrive promptly.

Full-time HE students will be given a specific enrolment slot during the following sessions:

  • Thursday 6 September 2018, 9.00am – 12.00pm (Washington Campus) / 1.00pm – 4.00pm (City Campus)
  • Friday 7 September 2018, 9.00am – 4.00pm (Bede Campus)

UoS students will be given a specific enrolment slot during the following sessions:

  • Monday 3 September 2018, 2.00pm – 7.30pm (Washington Campus)
  • Tuesday 4 September 2018, 2.00pm – 4.00pm (Washington Campus)
  • Thursday 6 September 2018, 9.00am – 12.00pm (Washington Campus)
  • Friday 7 September 2018, 9.00am – 4.00pm (Bede Campus)

Part-time HE and FE students will be given a specific enrolment slot during the following sessions:

  • Monday 3 September 2018, 2.00pm – 7.30pm (Washington Campus)
  • Monday 3 September 2018, 4.30pm – 7.30pm (Bede Campus)
  • Tuesday 4 September 2018, 2.00pm – 7.30pm (Washington Campus)
  • Wednesday 5 September 2018, 4.30pm – 7.30pm (City Campus)
  • Monday 10 September 2018, 2.00pm – 7.00pm (Washington Campus) / 5.30pm – 7.30pm (City Campus)
  • Tuesday 11 September 2018, 4.00pm – 7.00pm (Bede Campus)
  • Thursday 13 September 2018, 1.00pm – 5.00pm (Washington Campus) / 1.00pm – 4.00pm (City Campus)

Full-time FE students will be given a specific enrolment slot during the following sessions:

  • Thursday 6 September 2018, 1.00pm – 4.00pm (City Campus)

ESOL students will be given a specific enrolment slot during the following session:

  • Tuesday 11 September 2018, 9.00am – 3.30pm (Bede Campus)

What if I need additional support during enrolment?

What if I can’t make my enrolment?
It is very important that you attend on your specified date and time. However, if this is not possible or you live outside the area, please let us know in advance so we can reschedule your enrolment slot. Contact the Admissions team on 0191 511 6260 or email admissions@sunderlandcollege.ac.uk

What if I’ve changed my mind about what I want to study?
If you have applied and have changed your mind, still come to your enrolment session and we can discuss your change of course and help you transfer your application.

How can I pay for my course?

You can pay by cash, credit/debit card or cheque.

Can I pay my course fee in instalments?

If your course is over £200, you can pay by instalments. You will need to pay 10% of the fee when you enrol and the balance will be set up on a recurring payment via your credit/debit card. (Please note we do not accept American Express, Diners Card or Discoveries.)

Can I pay by an Advanced Learner Loan?

If you are aged 19 or over (from the first day of your course) you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the tuition fees. For more information visit www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan before enrolling on your course.

Am I entitled to any funding?

If you are aged 19-23 and have not already achieved a full Level 3 qualification, then you may be entitled to full funding for a Level 3 course. For more information contact our Welfare Team on 0191 511 6000.

Anything else?

If your course requires you to have a Disclosure and Baring Service Check (DBS), you will be sent information about what you need to do.
