Here at Sunderland College we want to help young people realise their potential. Our Connect programme does just that, offering 14-25 year olds the opportunity to ‘test-drive’ different careers.

Connect is specifically designed to:

  • Engage 14-25 year olds (NEET)
  • Allow students vocational tasters to find out which is the right one for them
  • Enable learners to take part in a real work placement
  • Assist with personal and social development
  • Improve self-confidence / esteem
  • Give young people a positive experience of education
  • Learners on the Connect programme may be entitled to a Sunderland College bursary, or Learner Support Fund payments and help with childcare.
  • Help gain / improve Maths and English qualifications
  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification
  • Signpost young people to further training and job opportunities
  • Gain life experiences
  • Specific groups tailored to young and potential young mums

Learners on the Connect programme may be entitled to a Sunderland College bursary, or Learner Support Fund payment and help with childcare.*
