Who is this course for?

This qualification is suitable for you if you would like to raise your awareness and develop your understanding of the consequences and the harmful effects of alcohol misuse.

What do you need to apply for the course?

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. You will need to attend a course induction to obtain course information and to complete initial assessments and necessary enrolment documents.

What are the key things you'll learn?

You will develop an understanding of the harmful effects of alcohol use including possible health issues and where to seek help and support on alcohol misuse issues.

You will learn about the differences in unit strengths, the possible causes of alcohol misuse, how to recognise the physical and psychological effects of alcohol misuse, how alcohol misuse can impact upon others, the effects of withdrawing from alcohol and the agencies offering support and information about alcohol misuse.

You will learn through a combination of classroom-based activities, theory based learning and practical learning activities.
