Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at people with an interest in working in Construction. It provides you with the fundamental aspects of the industry and the skills needed for entering the sector.

What do you need to apply for the course?

You will need to have an appropriate Level 1 qualification.

What are the key things you'll learn?

This course covers key areas of construction including:

  • Health and safety
  • Structure of the construction industry
  • Processes and operations
  • Basic drawing techniques
  • Hands on experience of construction application

How you will learn

The units are both theory and practical based, with the assessment carried out via a varied series of assignments, portfolio building and individual and group based presentations.

Where could this course take you?

After successfully completing the course you could enter employment at a junior level, in a wide range of areas, such as carpentry, bricklaying or building conservation.

You could also progress on to the Construction BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 or another Level 2programme, such as a relevant NVQ or Diploma, or to move on to a higher level qualification such as the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Construction.
