Students will be taught by experienced lecturers, who all have subject specialisms and industry experience. Teaching will take place in our state of the art Sports Academy facilities, which include a gym, digital exercise studio, sports hall, sports science laboratory, sports massage facility, outdoor pitches and Goals soccer centre.
Students will be in smaller class sizes than the usual university class-size - this is to enable a widening of access and support, which we feel is important for people entering into Higher Education for the first time.
Students will take part in a school placement (or similar)at Level 5 as part of the teaching practice unit.
This course has been strategically put together with support from employers and previous students to create a pathway that enables students to advance into a number of different careers in sport coaching and sports and exercise science.
Our strong partnerships with employers is a unique selling point, as these partners are involved in course design and delivery - providing real-life approaches to assessments, for example live briefs, masterclasses, being on presentation panels etc.
This is a full-time programme but there will be times during the week where students do not have scheduled lessons. Students are expected to prioritise their timetabled sessions over other commitments. Timetables are likely to be across 3 days.
