This course is for anyone aged 16-19 who would like to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours in sport and public services and then progress to a Level 2 course, apprenticeship or job role in the sport and leisure sector.
You will study a number of sport and public services based units including fitness, teamwork, nutrition etc. and learn through a range of classroom and engaging practical activities within our multi-million pound Sports Academy.
You will also have access to our sports hall, gym, sports science lab, grass pitches and Goals Soccer Centre during this course.

You will work through a number of portfolio based assignments that may be assessed through practicals, observations, presentations, workbooks and completion of activities. Lessons will be a combination of classroom and practical.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
We have a number of links with key employers in the sport and public services sector including Everyone Active, Foundation of Light, police, army, navy, airforce etc.
You will be involved in masterclasses, visits and work readiness placements with these employers and others in order to support you with making the correct career choices in the future.
After you have completed your Level 1 course, you can then progress to our Level 2 in Sport or our Level 2 in Uniformed Public Services. You may also wish to explore traineeship or apprenticeship opportunities.
