This qualification is for anyone who has a responsibility for safeguarding children, young people or vulnerable adults. It is ideal for those working with a range of roles including: Nursing, Teaching, Social Care, Uniformed Services, Youth Workers, or for those involved in running or supporting youth sports teams and community groups. It is ideal for if you are considering a career within an education, training, healthcare or the housing sector.
Students should be aged 19 years and over.
Students will experience a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies to include individual and group work activities and tasks, essays, leaflets, mini presentations, workshops, booklets, posters and professional discussions.
English and maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
Students can enrol onto this course throughout the year, times for delivery are flexible.
You will study the following:
Unit 01 Understanding the Prevent Duty
Unit 02 Understanding Safeguarding
Unit 03 Understanding Online Safety
This qualification may support progression towards the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead as well as qualifications that include:
Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
Level 3 Working with Children and Young People
Level 3 Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
Level 3 Award in Education and Training
Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work
