This course is for anyone who would like to improve their level of English Skills and needs to have an English qualification to progress in their career or onto further study.
This course is available at both our City Centre Campus and our Bede Campus.
This course is free of charge for anyone 19+ who does not hold this qualification or GCSE grade C/4 or above.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you may benefit from achieving a Level 1 in Functional Skills.

After developing your reading, writing and speaking and listening skills in the classroom, you will complete the following assessments:
- A speaking, listening and communication assessment with a teacher
- A paper-based or online writing assessment
- A paper-based or online reading assessment

After successfully completing this course you could go on to study English Language at GCSE level.
