The qualification is aimed at students wishing to develop an understanding of basic photographic processes and will also allow students to understand how to manipulate images.
Students will develop skills in how to use a camera correctly, how to safely to take photographs, and will learn how to review the quality of their final images. Students will also be aware of legal and ethical considerations relating to photography.
You do not need any official qualifications to apply for this course.

This course is taught through weekly practical classroom sessions and will be delivered through a series of structured sequential tasks.
There is no formal examination to the course, but to achieve the NCFE Level one qualification students are required to submit a portfolio of coursework for assessment. Staff will advise and assist on the presentation, collation and review of this work as part of the course.
Tuesdays, 6pm - 9pm
This qualification is designed for adult students, although it is suitable for a wide range of students who wish to gain a basic understanding of photography.
Course fee £200.
The course runs for 10 weeks twice a year-
Starts 2/11/21 and ends 18/1/22
Starts 1/2/22 and ends 5/4/22
The course covers two units:
- Use a camera to capture creative images
- Digital image manipulation (using Adobe Photoshop)
