What’s it all about?
This course is designed for people with a desire to work within the vibrant and ever changing travel & tourism sector in the many diverse careers it can offer. Over the course of the 2 years you will participate in variety of external visits, gain valuable work experience, improve both academic and social skills as well as develop a knowledge and understanding of the sector.
The travel industry is constantly evolving in many ways despite set backs, within the next 5 - 10 years it is predicted to employ approx 3.7 million people in the UK and there are opportunities available for various careers. This course will introduce you the sector and you will gain work experience in our on-site, fully operational travel agency Citysun Travel.
You will need a minimum of four GCSE’s at grade 4 or above (including English language), hold a level 2 dipolma in travel and tourism or level 2 extended certificate in travel and tourism at merit grade or higher.

|19+||please enquire||There is a contribution required to trips, visits and uniform at the start of each academic year. The current contributions are year 1 £80 and year 2 - £100, these are subject to change however. Eligible students may qualify for bursary payments to cover these costs.|
This 2 year programme is taught through online tests, time constrained assessments and coursework which may involve practical assessments, presentations or theory based research. You will study various units including the world of travel & tourism, global destinations, principles of marketing, managing the customer experience, travel trends & key issues and travel & tourism enterprises.
The course is delivered on a set timetable, Monday-Friday between the hours of 09.00 - 17.00 usually. A full timetable will be provided at the beginning of the course.
On successful completion of the course you could progress to our higher education programme – HND in International Travel and Tourism Management or move on to a university degree programme. Alternatively you could go directly into employment within the travel and tourism industry.

A college can offer a much wider choice of A-Level subjects, plus vocational courses in lots of different subjects and at different levels.
You will have the opportunity to take part in lots of different activities outside of the classroom to boost your confidence and help you develop your skills and personal qualities.
A college can invest in an extensive range of industry-standard facilities to give you the skills and knowledge to prepare for university or employment, and can also offer subjects that need specialist facilities.
