Who is this course for?
This course if for people with an interest in HR who would like to move in to the industry or are currently working in an HR support role and would like to develop their knowledge and skills and work towards professional membership. This course is also useful for team leaders/line managers who have a responsibility for people management duties.
What do you need to apply for the course?
Although no formal qualifications are required you will need an interest in human resources.
What are the key things you'll learn?
This course provides a firm foundation in all areas of HR as well as an understanding of HR in a business context.
It will help you develop practical and relevant skills that will give you the confidence to be more effective at work
How you will learn
You will learn through a combination of lectures, seminars, activity workshops, role play and practical tasks. You will also have individual tutorials.
You will study the following six units:
4DEP – Developing Yourself as an Effective Human Resources Practitioner
3MER – Supporting Good Practice in Managing Employment Relations
3RAI – Recording, Analysing and Using Human Resources Information
3HRC – Understanding Organisations and the Role of Human Resources
3RTO – Resourcing Talent
3DEL – Be able to prepare for delivery of a learning and development activity.
Where could this course take you?
After successfully completing this course you will have a CIPD qualification that can enhance your career opportunities in the HR industry. You will automatically be eligible to progress to the Level 5 CIPD Diploma in Human Resource Management, at Sunderland College.

You will need to register as a student member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
