Who is this course for?
This course is ideal if you wish to develop your performance in the core subjects of English, Maths, Biology and ICT and gaining new knowledge and experience in either Film Studies. This full-time programme could open up pathways to other courses including A-Level and vocational routes.

5 GCSEs at grade D including English & Maths.
What are the key things you'll learn?
Mandatory GCSE subjects include:
ICT (BTEC 3xunit Cert)
You will focus on improving your past performance in core areas and developing new knowledge of GCSE Film Studies.
GCSE Film Studies will explore film in its national and global contexts and begin to develop an appreciation of cultural diversity and a critical and investigative approach through the close study of a wide range of films, the film industry and film audiences. You will be able to recognise the ways in which films represent people, places, ideas, issues and events to different audiences and the ways in which film technologies shape film productions
How you will learn
You will learn through a variety of classroom based activities and discussions; practical workshops and demonstrations, self-study and group work.
You will be guided on how best to study and manage your time and you will be supported through regular sessions with a personal tutor to allow you the opportunity to discuss your progress and develop your personal and social skills.
Where could this course take you?
The course will develop your skills and understanding in your core subjects and allow you to explore further study and career opportunities in related fields. It can lead to further study in A-levels or vocational programmes as an excellent starting point to pursue your chosen career.
