Who is this course for?

This course is for individuals who would like to work in the care and early year’s industries and are looking for an introduction to the key areas involved.

What do you need to apply for the course?

You’ll need at least three GCSE’s at Grade E or above. As well as Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at entry level plus.

What are the key things you'll learn?

You will explore ways of organising yourself and prioritising activities for success. While also considering your progression routes. You will also cover activities related to healthcare and childcare. This will include looking at the skills and qualities required to work in these sectors.

How you will learn

The course is mainly taught through classroom learning and practical activities. You will build a portfolio of evidence and be assessed by coursework only.

Where could this course take you?

You can progress to a level 2 course in Health and Social Care or Childcare to further develop your understanding and knowledge of the care and early years profession.

There is also an opportunity to progress from level 1 to level 2 within 5 months of starting this course for those of you who excel in your work.
