Sunderland Care and Support, the largest Social Care Provider in the North East are continuing to grow, in a highly competitive environment, after adopting a fresh approach to their training and development needs.
Sunderland Care and Support employs over 1,300 staff and were formerly part of Sunderland City Council’s Adult Services, where they had traditionally used a number of different providers to facilitate their training requirements with varying results. As they moved out of Council control, with plans to grow and increase their workforce, they were keen to review their training needs. Working closely with Sunderland Care and Support, we conducted a training needs analysis of their existing staff and looked at their proposed structure for growth.
Sunderland Care and Support’s training requirements were and continue to be very diverse, therefore finding one provider to deliver all of their training had in the past been a challenge. Given our expertise and knowledge, we had the capability to deliver a service that could cover all of their development needs. Our training programme not only upskillls existing staff but also helps with recruitment via our apprenticeship programme. The training we deliver has helped facilitate growth for Sunderland Care and Support in a very competitive market. Sunderland Care and Support have worked exclusively with us for the last three years and the strength of the relationship has now been recognised in a formal strategic partnership. This partnership has mutual benefit to both organisations and sees Sunderland Care and Support advising College staff on vocational courses and offering invaluable expert Health and Social Care industry experience to our 16 to 18 year old
