Equality and Diversity Week

Event Details

11am - 2pm

The purpose of the event is to highlight to students that equality and diversity is all around them, and that the college wholeheartedly support differences in race, gender, sexuality and everything in between.

We are organising a range of events and activities which will be held across all four campuses during the week, including free henna painting, street art and a football tournament.

We will also be displaying information on areas such as human rights, refugee awareness, mental health and many more. All of these topics, whether we realise it or not, affect our day-to-day lives and the roadshow event is designed to highlight and raise awareness of these issues.

Organisations attending include: Freedom from Torture North East, Improved Access to Psychiatric Services, Age Concern, Young Minds, Washington Mind, Headway, Young Mums, Fairtrade, Guide Dogs, Nexus, Northumbria Police, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue, pregnancy and maternity nurses, and Sunderland United multicultural centre.
