Are you keen to work in the health and care industry? We are running a mini open day for health and social care those in year 10 and year 11 to give you all the information you need!

There will be an Information session, outlining what careers are available in health and care, including placements which are available at Sunderland Royal Hospital and the intergenerational Advocate Role, developed with local service providers.

In addition, there will be 5 interactive activities taking place throughout the event which include:

The vital signs station – Discover tools and techniques through measuring blood pressure

The care planning corner – Have a go at identifying an appropriate care plan for another individual

Everyday challenges – Discover what life is like as an older person at home through testing aging suits

Effective handwashing – Learn the best techniques using interactive manikins and UV equipment

Risk assessment – Discover the risks of the ward area in a hospital and how they can be managed

There will be existing health and care students on hand to demonstrate equipment and answer any queries you may have!
