Who is this course for?
This is an ideal course for people who have a keen interest in floristry, are interested in developing basic floristry skills, enjoy exploring creative ideas and want to produce inspirational floral designs.
What do you need to apply for the course?
No formal qualifications are necessary, just a keen interest in floristry.
What are the key things you'll learn?
You will learn basic floral design techniques including care and conditioning, wiring techniques, hand ties, colour, height and proportion. Each session will include a demonstration and a related practical assignment. The aim is to build your skills gradually throughout the course.
How you will learn
Sessions will be mainly practical learning. The course is assessed with a submitted portfolio of work.
Where could this course take you?
This course provides a good foundation in Floristry techniques and can lead on to the Level 2 Award in Floristry. It is also suitable for those who are interested in taking the first step towards a career in floristry.
What costs will you incur?
You will need to provide scissors, tape and other floristry items for your tool-box and fresh flowers and plant materials each week.
