Our staff are subject experts and fully focused on teaching their subject at A-Level and/or Level 3 BTEC. They have an amazing passion and enthusiasm for their subjects and their role as teachers. They also have strong links with universities, other organisations and employers to develop your skills for your future.
Our students are celebrated for achieving 100% attendance and for demonstrating the college values -Respect, Innovation, Ambition and Authenticity - at our Sixth Form Champions and Values Awards.
Our specialist subject classrooms create a welcoming and positive learning environment for sixth form students. These include the Den, a social space for sixth form students; industry-standard science labs; an award-winning digital hub, including an Innovation Space with shared VR environments; Arts Academy; Sports Academy and state-of-the-art gym; Campus Café and Starbucks.
As a sixth form student, you will have access to a wide range of expert support and guidance to help you reach your full potential. Support is available whenever you need it, from our Counselling and Guidance teams, LGBTQ+ support and personal tutors, to bursary support, personal development sessions and Youth Support workers.
During your time with us, you'll have the opportunity to take part in a range of extra-curricular activities and work with like-minded peers to make a positive difference. You can become part of a sixth form society, raise money for charity, get involved in international celebrations and take your learning to the next level by becoming a Maths or English tutor, or taking on the challenge of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Your next steps after sixth form are important for you and they’re important to us as well! We do everything that we can to make sure our students achieve positive destinations and progression.
Throughout your time at sixth form, all your subjects will have bespoke enrichment opportunities. Each subject has excellent links with local and national universities, as well as local and regional employers. Whether you visit a university for a subject lecture or engage in a workshop delivered by a guest speaker, your skills needed to succeed in your next steps will be developed to ensure you are ready for your future education and career.
Whatever your future ambitions, we will support you with exciting opportunities such as: working with UCAS, UniFrog and Future Me to prepare for higher education; medical UCAT/BMAT and law LNAT entry exams; widening participation schemes and summer schools to secure university places; CV writing workshops, apprenticeship/careers fairs and work experience placements to get you career ready. We have expert support and guidance staff to support your progression.
