Student-athlete makes the England Colleges' Football Association Under 18 Squad

Student-athlete, Taylor Richardson has been called into the 2019-20 England Colleges (ECFA) Under 18 Squad following recent national trials.

Taylor, who is a Level 3 BTEC in Sport, Performance & Excellence student and a member of the Sunderland College Football Development Centre in partnership with Improtech Soccer, joins 26 of the very best of Under 18 college footballers in the final squad that will experience a two-day training camp at St George’s Park and then play a number of international fixtures, including the prestigious Roma Caput Mundi tournament in Italy.

Carl Jones, Football Development Centre Co-ordinator, said: “Taylor is an excellent student athlete and is now in his second year of our Football Development Centre.  Taylor has benefitted from the bespoke technical and tactical training provided by Improtech Soccer and the Strength and Conditioning programme with Martin Nugent Elite Performance”

Taylor joins a strong tradition of international honours at Sunderland College, with three alumni of the Football Development Centre representing the ECFA national squad over the last six years.

Taylor added: “I am delighted to make the final ECFA squad and cannot wait for the opportunity that lies ahead.  I would like to thank Stuart Brand and Colin Larkin at Improtech Soccer for showing their belief in me and giving me the confidence to achieve this throughout all of the technical training and competition we have had together.”
