A talented barbering student at Sunderland College recently travelled to Edinburgh to take part in Wella Professionals Xposure 2019 competition.
The competition was created by Wella and designed to help students develop their creativity, confidence and passion for working in the salon professional industry.
Galip took the competition in his stride, going head-to-head against fellow students despite being the only barber competing at the vent and the only competitor with a male model.
Mark Sowerby Sunderland College Lecturer in Barbering said:
“I am so proud of Galip, he has continually pushed himself to improve and develop his skills this year on his course. This is his third skills competition of the year and it is amazing how his confidence has grown with each entry.”
Despite giving the competition his all, Galip was unsuccessful in making it to the next round in London, however is looking forward to his next challenge!
Students from Sunderland College and Northumberland College recently went head-to-head in an inter-college barbering competition.
